We're almost there!!

Dear Friends,

Since you've attended a Weekend to Remember, you know it's about so much more than learning a few new marriage skills.  It's about encountering Christ together.

Just a few months ago, nearly 400 people gathered for the Des Moines Weekend to Remember, and during that weekend 18 people placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Even more couples left with a renewed commitment to pursue oneness in their marriages.

One husband, married just five months, shared this after the weekend:

"Before this, I thought I 'knew' all the things I needed to do to be a good husband... but this weekend it finally clicked for me. It's not about how hard I try. It's about genuinely submitting to Christ and following Him. Those things will naturally flow out of me to my wife."

Stories like that remind me why this ministry matters so deeply.

My name is AJ Aswegan, and I am stepping into the role of Field Ministry Leader for FamilyLife in Iowa.

In this role, I'll have the privilege of helping the Weekend to Remember continue to grow in both size and impact across our state. But my calling extends far beyond hosting great marriage events.

My passion is to come alongside couples like you who have experienced the Weekend to Remember and help you discover how God might use your own marriage to strengthen others.

For some, that may mean opening your home to lead a small group. For others, it may mean mentoring younger couples, serving at a future Weekend to Remember, volunteering with FamilyLife, or helping establish a thriving marriage ministry in your local church.

No two callings look exactly alike, but every healthy marriage has the potential to become a source of hope for someone else.

I want to encourage and equip couples all across Iowa to make an eternal difference right where God has placed them—in their own families, churches, workplaces, and communities...their own corner of the world.

Before I can begin serving in this role full-time, however, my position must be funded by a team of ministry partners who believe in this mission.

By God's grace and through the generosity of many faithful supporters, we've already reached 58% of our monthly support goal.

When we reach 70% of our monthly support goal, I'll be able to step away from my current employment and finish fundraising full-time.

Once we reach 100%, I'll be fully funded and able to invest in pastors, churches, volunteers, and couples across Iowa much sooner than we originally expected.
